A ton of new trailers have dropped over the past week. Some I really enjoyed, some I thought were just OK. Let’s dive in, shall we?
Black Widow: May 1, 2020
I am beyond excited about this! I can’t wait to learn more about her history in the MCU. Plus it’ll be nice to have a movie that probably isn’t about aliens and the world ending. Honestly that’s what I like the most about the MCU films like “Ant-Man.” Not everything needs to be this end of the world, the sky is falling movie. I do think she should’ve had a movie years ago but you can’t change the past. I’m curious to see if any other characters pop up. Maybe we can finally get some more information about what happened in Budapest with Hawkeye. The cast looks really outstanding too.
Wonder Woman 1984: June 5, 2020
This trailer actually delivered some goosebumps. I can’t explain why but it did. I love the music, the tone, the colors. Plus you can’t go wrong with Chris Pine in a fanny pack. Then you have Wonder Woman using her lasso to travel via lightning?? I just can’t. I think the biggest question most of us have is how is Steven Trevor back from the dead? Was he ever dead? Is it some weird clone? I can’t wait to get some answers next summer.
Ghostbusters Afterlife: Summer 2020
This is one of the trailers that I felt was just OK. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it. I do love Paul Rudd, it has that going for it. I’m someone who loved the “Lady Ghostbusters” movie though and didn’t really feel the need for a new one this soon. And confession, I think I might be getting sick of the “Stranger Things” kids. I do hope the next trailer shows off a little more humor.
Free Guy: July 3, 2020
I honestly know nothing about this and only watched it because it has Ryan Reynolds but it looks hilarious. The use of “Fantasy” is genius plus the movie has Taika Waititi! You can’t go wrong if he’s in it. I just hope this isn’t a trailer that showed all the good/funny parts and the rest of it might be a mess. But I’ll probably see it anyway.
And there ya go! A few quick thoughts on some movies coming out next year. I think I’m really going to try to see more movies next year in general. I have the AMC A List which allows me 3 movies a week and I’ve been doing a horrible job using it. It’s a great deal but ya know, if you’re only seeing one movie a month, it’s not really. Sometimes it’s just hard to fit a film in between work and everything else going on. Enough rambling, did you watch any of the new trailers? What did you think?
Yeah the ghostbusters trailer was meh.. to me.
Right? Like…it was fine?
Yeah.. it was kind of boring to watch.
Definitely here for Black Widow and Wonder Woman. The other two not so much.
I can’t wait to see two super ladies on the big screen!
